Hello, sorry been away for long time. Must get better at this blogging lark!

News – daughter one now has brace. Daughter two has been banned from cheese for the past two weeks and hasn’t had a single migraine. Hurrah. Mind you, she is pretty miffed, as she LOVES cheese!

Very busy day tomorrow, my diary is completely full. I’ll be shattered, but not complaining.

I have taken on a new venture. A friend had a Neal’s Yard Remedies evening at her house last week and I was so impressed that I bought lots of produts to use in my treatment room. I am going to promote facials and facial massage using only these products. They are completely gorgeous, organic, natural and free of anything remotely chemical. I am hoping to also sell all of the products as well. I have yet to put a new page on my site, due to my lovely cousin – web designer – being in the midde of learning how to teach! But, it will be on there soon.

I am looking forward to a lovely day tomorrow, a real mixture – Swedish, Hot Stone, Reiki and finishing off with a Deep Tissue. Phew!!

Phew, busy old day today. Although it wasn’t a day in Bath. I had two lovely ladies to do a facial massage, at their home – they were both bought a voucher for Christmas and it was so tricky for them to make it in to my room, so I decided to visit them at home instead. They were hilarious and we had such a fun time. I shall be polite and call them ladies of a ‘certain’ age! They were sisters and one had been staying with the other since before Christmas and is reluctantly going back home at the weekend. Both really enjoyed the massage and I loved giving it. The best thing about doing what I do is that people are always pleased to see you and so happy when they’ve been treated. How could I not love my job?!!

Seeing as I temporarily have my couch at home, husband and daughter no.2 took huge advantage and ordered treatments after tea. Blooming cheek! Husband had deep tissue, with lots of MET stretches and real hard work on shoulders and neck. I almost made him cry, so many tight knots to get rid of. No.2 had relaxing back, neck and shoulder massage. She is a tiny thing and my hands are just too big. She loves it though and made me combine an Indian Head to finish, little monkey. No.1 daughter still in pain from extractions and start of brace work to want one, so she just got cuddles.

My birthday list is going to have one thing on it – new couch! I would really like to upgrade and have the one I use kept at home. Husband gets such a lot of problems with back pain and I hardly ever treat him, but would do with a couch at home. Mind you……..I’ll be knackered!

I am fitting him in on Friday, in Bath, for a Hot Stone Massage which will hopefully sort him out for a couple of weeks. I am a bit ashamed that I have let him get so badly knotted and sore, poor neglected boy. I guess I am just like a plumber who never fixes the leaking taps at home, or the builder who never finishes his own extension!

Oh at long last the snow has stopped and is clearing and I have clients able to come to Bath today, phew!!! It was beautiful for a day or two and sledging was fun, but then it just becomes a bore and my bank account is looking very sad! I have a Hot Stone Massage first, then 2 sessions of Reiki and last, but not least, an Indian Head Massage.

Poor husband was back to work on his motorbike this morning, so not happy that I need the car. He has had it cushy over the past couple of weeks being able to take the car. Ho hum. He has a bad knee – family are falling apart! It is the old cartilage problem, so operation looms again. I am able to ease it with Reiki, but poor love is in a fair bit of pain. He struggles on, with not too much complaining-actually he complains a LOT, we just stop listening!

Eldest is having 2 teeth out this afternoon, in preparation for her brace. Seems such a pity to take out perfectly healthy teeth, but she wants a straight smile and her bite is all acock so its necessary I guess. She is a bit smug this morning as parents evening was fantastic last night – she is a honey, very proud. Youngest has hers next week, so maybe the unused smacks will be able to be used up on her. Doubt it though, she appears to be doing really well too. Damn – where are those dogs…….

Thaw

At last the end is in sight, it appears that we have a thaw, phew. Schools are back today and the promised heavy overnight drop didn’t appear. For all self-employed people who don’t get paid unless they work this is a big sigh of relief!

Hopefully, now people can get out and about, my phone will be on fire with phone calls booking treatments ……..will keep you informed!!

PS forget the chocolate biscuit to dunk in my coffee later. Hound managed to lift down glass jar, open it and eat all of the contents, grrrrr!

Still snowed in, getting a bit fed up now, as Asda delivery was due yesterday – Wednesday – and now they are not delivering until Saturday, if they can even then. We are relying on the corner shop and can at least walk to the butcher, but he has run out of veg as no deliveries. We are munching our way through left over Christmas chocs and scraps in the fridge. Total crisis point today when we ran out of loo roll – eeek!

Poor youngest has just been diagonsed with migraine, after a lot of messing around at doctors. She has to keep a food diary and has pain killers as a last resort. I have been able to ease the pain with a gentle Head Massage and Reiki. Really need to get to my treatment room to bring home some Hopi Candles as she loves the treatment and I am sure it will help.

Am putting a ‘spare’ set of Hot Stones on my wish list. Could have heated them up and put them in our pockets and wellies when we went sledging this morning!

Weather forcast is shocking for weekend but am keeping my fingers crossed as have lots of clients booked in for treatments next week. The snow is beautiful, but not good for business! Mind you…….lots of sledging, slipping in the snow etc…could get some people with torn muscles or general aches and pains…!

Oh dear we are well and truly snowed in, can’t even get off the drive. Had to postpone all clients this week. No hot stone, all I can do is build cold snowmen and sledge. Could be a worse way to spend my time though as no schools either, so girls home too!

Have clients booked in next week so keeping fingers crossed for a thaw over the weekend.

Setting up business link over Christmas was a good move, already getting bookings from it. Hurrah.

Had an email arrive this morning, offering a course on colonic irrigation – eeekkk, no thanks!!

Back to work today, only one client though so plenty of time for sales shopping after! Hot Stone Massage, will probably mix a relaxing aromatherapy blend too as a nice treat. Set up an Adwords account over Christmas, so hopefully that will bring in some new clients, though I am really pleased with how the business is going. I opened in September,  for two days a week and am more than happy with progress. People are rebooking after treatments – phew, must be doing it right!!!

It is tipping down with rain today, so dogs have just had a nice wet walk, are both now sulking in their beds with their angry eyes on!

Right….off to brave the rain, where is my brolly………..?

This is my first ever blog, ever, ever. Just a quickie about myself. I have recently opened my treatment room in the centre of Bath, offering Holistic Therapies. It is very scary starting a business, but so far all good and exciting. Massage is almost as good to give as it is to receive and I love it.

I have one husband, two children and two dogs. Am still in the middle of enjoying Christmas. Back into work on Wednesday. Will be back on here when not so busy.
